I normally don't post jokes or forward them along or anything like that. However, I decided to do it with this one. With what is going on with me lately, some are very apt to me. (And, it's short. hehe) Enjoy! MEN ARE JUST HAPPIER PEOPLE NICKNAMES * If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah. * If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla and Four-eyes. EATING OUT * When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back. * When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators. MONEY * A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs. * A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale. BATHROOMS * A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel . * The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items. ARGUMENTS * A woman has the last word in any argument. * Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. FUTURE * A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. * A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife. SUCCESS * A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. * A successful woman is one who can find such a man. MARRIAGE * A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. * A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does. DRESSING UP * A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail. * A man will dress up for weddings and funerals. NATURAL * Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed. * Women somehow deteriorate during the night. OFFSPRING * Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams. * A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing! (Of course, I don't agree with all and it's obviously meant to be a joke. But a couple hit home with me) | | Friday, July 25th, 2008 | | 10:14 pm |

Con.Txt Con Report
I went to Con.txt in Silver Spring MD this weekend. First off, let me say that the con was awesome! I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes on the Con comm and all that, but whatever it is it worked. I had a blast at the first one and a blast at the second one (this last weekend). I can’t wait for Con.Txt 3.0 in 2010!! For those on my friend’s list who are looking for a fun slash con, I would strongly urge you to try Con.txt in two years. ( Con Report )I will say again…I had an absolute blast and can’t wait for 2010!! I would recommend this con to anyone who is a slasher. The con committee works hard to make sure that things are organized and that people have fun and succeed! | | Thursday, April 3rd, 2008 | | 4:58 am |
Disclaimer: For one of the first times since I created it, I am using this journal like a traditional journal. I had considered locking this post private so I could go back and look at it in the years to come to reflect on what would then be the past. However, I decided to open it as the discussion and comments it could create would only add to the observations at the time. Plus, I like discussing stuff like this. So, I just wanted to give you a head’s up on what this post was about before you decided to jump into it. Yearly update! (Closer to the truth than I would like)
Again, it is time for an update. I really need to do these more frequently so I can actually comment on everything I want to without writing an entry or the word count of War and Peace. Nevertheless, I am now updating and will try to be brief. :) Though many of you know, many of you do not, I am getting married on July 24th in Las Vegas. I’m very much looking forward to it. Surprisingly, the arrangements have not been difficult at all and planning has gone quite smoothly. But, I guess that is one of the appeals of getting married in Vegas. Hehe. So, in a matter on a little over a week, I will attend two cons, get married and have a vacation/honeymoon. Well, I’m nothing if not efficient. So, as you all might imagine, I am very much looking forward to July. ( Con.txt in June )( Lumos and Con*strict and Las Vegas, OH MY! )( Fanfic and fannish stuff )( Free time and gaming )( X3 – No Spoilers )( Star Wars EU – Books & Comics. Legacy of the Force-Betrayal – No Spoilers )Well, I think that is it for now. I considered posting some about politics, but frankly the topic is filling me with nothing but disgust lately. Reading online, listening to pundits, etc has left me feeling quite disenchanted. So, once the fires of my liberal rage are adequetly re-stoked, I may do a politics post. So, more to come soon! The rare meme from me...
I know I need to update, until then I present this meme... ;) You've just been given the magic ticket from Last Action Hero, allowing you to step into the world of any movie. For the purposes of this meme, the movie must be one you own. TV shows do not count, although TV-movies and miniseries do. Which five movies would you visit? Why? When you're done, tag five people to do the same. 1. Star Wars. Because I want to be a Jedi, obviously. 2. Harry Potter (OotP or later). Magic is cool! Besides, tons of femslash if the fandom and subtext are any indication. ;) 3. Aladdin. So much cooler than anything the middle east has to offer these days. Besides, it has Robin Williams and more magic! 4. V for Vendetta. Yeah, no super powers. But, it is clear who the bad guy is and it appeals to my revolutionary side. 5. Back to the Future. It has it all: 80's fashions, time travel that screws up less stuff than in Star Trek, Huey Lewis and the News for theme music, "Great Scott!", etc. That would be cool... ETA: Amusingly enough, I misread the meme the first time and totally did it wrong. hehe. Fixed now! Though, I'm not sure they are my top 5, but ya know. :) | | Tuesday, March 28th, 2006 | | 4:54 pm |

lumos 2006! Here I come...
I am Lumos 2006 bound! Woo! I just made my hotel reservation and bought my con registration before the price went up. So, as usual, I will be in Las Vegas in July. It seems that there is a chance I might be getting a free ticket on Southwest. Which, would rock not needing to pay for airfare. Anyone else going? I know that emmagrant01 is. I believe glockgal is as well. Of those who are, did you register for the keynote lunches Saturday and Sunday? I did not. I figured I had a little time there in the event I changed my mind. Man, I psyched already. Hopefully, Con*strict will be moved to the weekend before and I can bookend my week in Vegas with 2 cons. That would rock! ::bounce::bounce:: | | Monday, October 10th, 2005 | | 11:34 pm |
Withcing Hour and Serenity!
Work. That is primarily what I have been up to lately. I know, not very exciting. However, I know I can at least take some solace in the fact that most of the rest of you are in exactly the same boat. So, with that said, it's time for an update. I am quite happy (though trying not to think on it too much for fear I'll be too anxious) that I bought a package to go to Vegas again for a long weekend in January. It'll be me and the girlfriend, obi_ki and my dad. We'll have a great time and I could really use time away from work at that time. (Being outside on a tarmac in January in NH kinda sucks sometimes, as you might imagine). Two kinda big things have happened lately. 1) The Witching Hour and 2) Serenity. Which, I will address right now. ( Witching Hour, Sunday )( Serenity! (Spoilers) )Next week I'll be hitting Madrigal and I'm looking forward to that. LARP'ing around Halloween rocks! As well, my D&D game is going great. I love when a game starts to gel. The PC's are getting your world and you are getting their characters and goals for them. It just rules. Well, that is it for now. I thought I wanted to talk about more. So, when I remember what, I'll just need to post again! Witching Hour this weekend...
I was wondering who on my friend's list was going to Withcing Hour this weekend? I know fuschia and emmagrant01 are attending. It looks like I'll be there either one day or two. Any suggestions on which days might be best? Saturday is probably the worst day for me to try and go. But, I might be able to pull some strings if it's gonna be super-cool. So, if you'd chime in with your thoughts and roll call for the con, that would rock! :) | | Friday, August 26th, 2005 | | 5:31 pm |
Long Delayed Update...
Wow, it has been a long time since I've updated. In that time, I've had a great vacation and read the Harry Potter book. People might have thought that I would have tons more interesting news to report. However, that just doesn't seem to be the case. Hehe ( General Musings on the GF and Vegas-Post Con*Strict... )( Con*Strict )Well, I had meant to get this up quite a while ago (having returned to it after SEVERAL days of not writing it). So, I'll end there for now. I do plan to comment of HPB since I finished reading it a while ago. As well, I will so likely comment on Joiner King (the new Star Wars book that is set post-NJO) I was also wondering who is planning to go to Witching Hour in Oct? I'd love to be able to meet up with people if they are going. I'm not too sure what my plans for the weekend is, as people seem to wish to celebrate me now officially being "In my 30's". hehe. Thanks for the birthday wishes I've received. I'll be sure to post about my celebrations. They will likely be some gambling at the track, dinners, presents and naked chicks! Woo! ;) | | Thursday, May 19th, 2005 | | 3:55 am |
Revenge of the SITH!! (No Spoilers)
I just got back from the midnight showing of Revenge of the Sith. I must say, I really really liked it. Though, I am totally exhausted now even thought I don't usually go to bed until later than this. It feels like I have been a coiled spring since I left Celebration III and the movie finally released that tension. Now, I just feel totally drained. I'll leave you all to make your own judgements and such. But, I imagine, at the very least, people will enjoy this movie much more than the other two prequels. I'll do a full review at some point. But, for now, I just need to go to bed. I feel like I could sleep for a month. |
